Ring of Honor began their build this week towards December's Final Battle. This week's episode was main evented by a big eight man tag match between the team of Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky and Coast 2 Coast, and Bullet Club.
TV Title contenders
Silas Young and Jonathan Gresham battled to see who would become the final entrant in the TV Title fatal four-way at Final Battle, while current champion Kenny King watched on from the commentary table. Jonathan Gresham showed why he's called "the octopus" as he used his technical ability to tie up Young throughout the match, much to the joy of the fans. Beer City Bruiser's constant interference eventually proved too much for Gresham, and Young got the win and will go on to join Punishment Martinez, Shane Taylor and Kenny King at Final Battle.
Bullet Club provide the thrills
In a main event that epitomised everything Ring of Honor is known for, Bullet Club fought a team of ROH newbies in Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky and Coast 2 Coast. Jay Lethal also joined commentary to keep an eye on Marty Scurll before their match at Final Battle.Â
After jumping up on the apron, Cody was sent to the back by the referee early on. The match soon turned into a high-flying dream match as all eight men showed amazing athleticism and ariel ability. Nonstop action all the way through the match delivered pretty much every move in the wrestling encyclopedia. Adam Page eventually got the win for his team after pinning Scorpio Sky.Â
This was entertaining, frantic, crazy and hell of a lot of fun. Is there anything in wrestling as popular as Bullet Club right now?
Best of the rest
War Machine were on their way to the ring when they were attacked by The Addiction. All four men fought around the ring until Raymond Rowe accidentally launched Kazarian into a fan at ringside. This seemed to shock everybody and Ian Riccaboni laid the blame on The Addiction. This was an interesting story and a nice build towards their match at Final Battle.
During an episode of Coleman's Pulpit, Caprice Coleman manipulated his way towards getting a title match as he got under the skin of Kenny King by talking about his daughter. This angered the TV champion, and he challenged Coleman to a title match, telling him that a king is higher than a bishop.
We also saw a clip from last week's episode where Bully Ray said he was retiring after being injured by Jay Briscoe at Death Before Dishonor. Jay came out, telling him he was a bitch and attacked him, resulting in Tommy Dreamer and Mark Briscoe trying to calm things down before the Briscoes attacked Dreamer, setting up a tag match at Final Battle.
Quick results
Silas Young def. Jonathan Gresham
