We're just over a week away from Apex Legends Season 8!

Some new weapons are on the way to blast your enemies - here's what we know.

Latest News - Celebration Event

To celebrate the 2 year anniversary of Apex Legends, which also coincides with the start of Season 8, there will be a Celebration Event.

Usually, with each Celebration Event, a new Heirloom is released, giving players the opportunity to grab some new rare items.

This time it seems that players may be granted 150 Heirloom Shards to get a free Heirloom that is already in the game.

According to data miner Shrugtal, to celebrate the anniversary of Apex Legends, there will be a lot of new skins and items to unlock and purchase, but they will mainly be recolours of current skins, rather than brand new cosmetic items.

Apex Legends Season 8 Gameplay Trailer

A brand new Apex Legends trailer shows off Season 8 Gameplay, including in-game footage of new legend Fuse.

Fuse's gun looks amazing, and his abilities even more-so!

Check out the new hype trailer below:

Mayhem Launch Trailer

The countdown to the new season is well and truly on, thanks to the launch trailer.

We get a great look at Fuse - but he can't save King's Canyon from destruction.

This is perhaps also a hint to the map changes arriving in Season 8.

New Weapons

With every new season comes many changes, from new Legends, map changes, metas, and of course weapons.

One new gun that we know is coming is the 30-30 Repeater, which will wreak havoc in Apex Legends for those with the aim to take advantage of it.

But that's not all that fans are hoping to see for new weapons in Apex Legends Season 8.

Predator Weapon

When Season 6 was released, data miners found the existence of a new unreleased weapon, the Predator weapon.

It is being speculated that the weapon will be bow, which was spotted by fans a few weeks before the release of Season 6.

With Apex Legends taking place in the same universe as Titanfall, it makes sense that the game uses a lot of ideas from the Titanfall games.

Titanfall 2 has a Predator Cannon, which is a rotary cannon, which needs to briefly charge before firing.

It can also be used as a short or long range weapon, however it uses double the ammunition in long ranged mode.

But the Predator Cannon offers a lot of variety and options when it comes to using the weapon.

With the addition of the second shot it does seem like it could be a very similar style of weapon.

Will the Predator weapon finally be released in Season 8?

Release Date

Apex Legends Season 8 is due to start on February 2nd, still giving players plenty of time to max out the Season 7 Battle Pass before the next one is released.

No Fill Coming In Season 8

Apex Legends has always been built around being a team-based game.

There has been a Solo mode in the game, but only briefly, leaving team-based modes such as Duos and Trios as the only option if players want to jump into Apex.

Back in November 2020 during as Reddit AMA, Apex Design Director Jason McCord confirmed it was being tested and worked and that it would be coming in Season 8.

It won't be available at launch, and will instead be implemented later on.

Nintendo Switch

Last year EA announced that Apex Legends would be coming to both Steam and the Nintendo Switch.

Both versions were meant to release in 2020, however the Switch version was pushed back.

As of right now there is no set release date for the Nintendo Switch port, however it is expected in 2021.
