To celebrate the 2 year anniversary of Apex Legends, which also coincides with the start of Season 8, there will be a Celebration Event.
Usually, with each Celebration Event, a new Heirloom is released, giving players the opportunity to grab some new rare items.
This time it seems that players may be granted 150 Heirloom Shards to get a free Heirloom that is already in the game.

Apex Legends Season 8 drops on 2 February, giving us a little over a week left to go before Mayhem arrives.
The Season 8 Gameplay Trailer now has its own release date as well - premiering at 11am EST on 26 January!

Apex Legends Season 8
The last Apex Legends season was the game's biggest yet - and we have very high hopes for Apex Legends Season 8!
We've already gotten an awesome Fuse trailer, but that's far from the last big trailer on the way to launch day, 2 February.
The new season will reshape the Apex Legends map Kings Canyon as we know it, and Fuse will be at the center of it all as a grenadier with a penchant for explosive entrances.
No Fill Coming In Season 8
Apex Legends has always been built a team-based game.
Solos has made an appearance in the game before, but only briefly, leaving team-based modes such as Duos and Trios as the only option if players want to jump into Apex.
Back in November 2020 during as Reddit AMA, Apex Design Director Jason McCord confirmed it was being tested and worked and that it would be coming in Season 8.
However, it won't be available at launch, and will instead be implemented later on.
