The next Apex Legends event is going to be a good one - it might not be as expansive as the Evolution Collection Event, though. The "Old Ways, New Dawn" Event is going to be a lore-based event all about Bloodhound and their quest to try and save Talos. It's going to be worth checking out and Respawn Entertainment could use it to make a few key changes to Apex Legends. Here's everything we know about the upcoming Patch Notes for the new Bloodhound Event and when we'll know more.
UPDATED - Ranked Split forces Event delay?
Apex Legends' Ranked Split 1 is due to end on September 28th at the following times:
- 09:30 PST
- 12:30 EST
- 16:30 BST
Following this, there's going to be 30 minutes of "downtime" before Apex Legends' Ranked Split 2 starts in Kings Canyon. Could this be a cause for delay?
Respawn Entertainment are yet to share any information about the Bloodhound event via official channels and there are only a few occasions when a Ranked Split would clash with an event in the past. Shrugtal, a notable data miner, tweeted about the delay yesterday - however, this Tweet has since been deleted.
Until Respawn Entertainment shares more information, we just won't know for sure. Take everything with a pinch of salt, as always, and your eyes on the official Apex Legends social media channels.
PATCH NOTES - What are we expecting?
At the moment, Respawn Entertainment hasn't shared any information about the "Old Ways, New Dawn" Bloodhound Event - Patch Notes included. They're keeping a tight lid on what's coming up and this means talking about the next set of Patch Notes is a little tough.
The Evolution Collection Event introduced a minor rework to Rampart's Ultimate Ability and we think the Bloodhound Event is the perfect chance for Respawn Entertainment to make a few changes to Bloodhound's Ultimate Ability. At the moment, Beast of the Hunt only increases Bloodhound's speed and visibility. It also reduces the cooldown of their Tactical Ability, which is useful. However, we think there's more to this Ultimate Ability.
As a Recon Legend, we think Bloodhound's Ultimate Ability should benefit their team a little more. We think adding a "target painting" system to Bloodhound's Ultimate Ability - a feature that allows Bloodhound's teammates to also see enemies highlighted when Bloodhound aims at or damages them - would help make this ability that little bit better.
Alongside this, we're expecting a few map changes to be detailed in the Bloodhound Event Patch Notes and a few minor weapon changes. With the Monsters Within Event a couple of weeks away, however, we should see a more substantial Apex Legends update drop when this starts.
START DATE - When should we find out more?
The Bloodhound Event is due to start on September 28th - this means, we should see a set of Patch Notes drop at some point over the next day. Occasionally, these are released by Respawn Entertainment before their upcoming event starts. However, we're not sure they will with the Bloodhound Event as it feels like the development team are trying to keep it a secret.
The "Old Ways, New Dawn" event should start at around 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 18:00 BST on release day, so we should see the Patch Notes for the Bloodhound Event released by then.
