Among Us was a slow burner game for sure, that may have never found the success it now has without the global pandemic keeping everyone at home.
With time on their hands and only voice chat for communication, many gamers found themselves looking for a fun multiplayer experience they could play with their friends.
And they found that with Among Us.
What Is Among Us?
Among Us was first released in 2018 and had a small player base, with it flying under the radar for a lot of gamers.
During the summer of 2020, with Fall Guys' popularity falling and people looking for the next fun experience they can share with their friends, a group of streamers discovered Among Us and the snowball effect quickly began.

Within days it was one of the most talked about, and played, games on both mobile and PC.
Among Us sees 10 players on a map, with the job of completing various tasks to win the game.
But, not everyone is as they seem, some members of the Crew are Imposters, tasked with eliminating the rest of the lobby.
Players then come together throughout the match and try and decide who is the Imposter that lurks within the group and vote them off.
The match ends when either all Imposters are voted off, or enough Crew members are eliminated.
