Release Date

No official release date has been given yet, once it is we will update this section.

Considering wrestling games, like other sport games, are yearly release, the AEW game will likely come out at some point in 2021.

Yuke's Are Developing It

Yuke's are mainly known for developing WWE video games, starting from WWF Smackdown all the way to WWE 2K19.

ALL ELITE: The game is expected to have a huge roster, including Hikaru Shida.

They broke away from WWE during the development of WWE 2K20, presumably to partner with AEW.

WWE 2K20 ended up releasing as a broken mess, with so many glitches and issues with the game.

The issues were so bad that WWE cancelled 2K21 to try and allow for time to fix the problems.

WWF No Mercy Developer

It was also revealed during the event that former WWF No Mercy director "Geta" has joined the team to lead development of the upcoming AEW video game.

Kenny Omega did state that he wants it to be fun like WWF No Mercy and Virtual Pro Wrestling, but it seems like the game will play like a WWE 2K game, rather than the AKI Engine based No Mercy.

NO MERCY: Legendary developer Geta has joined the development team.

Omega said in the past he wanted to bring back the AKI Engine, but it seems they went in the direction of the 2K and Smackdown vs Raw games instead.

WWF No Mercy is still regarded as one of the best wrestling games of all time, despite releasing in 2000.

Combining the fun factor of No Mercy with the modern 2K mechanics should make for an incredible wrestling game.
